Denpasar, VIVA – Bali Police (Polda Bali) have released the results of DNA testing on human body parts found at Ketewel Beach, Gianyar Regency, which are identical to Ihor Komarav, a 28-year-old Ukrainian national who is suspected of being abducted. Ariasandy, Head of Public Relations for Polda Bali, said that the DNA samples from the body parts found at Ketewel Beach, with blood stains at several crime scenes and the DNA of the victim’s mother, were 99.99 percent identical after a series of tests. The autopsy was conducted at RSUP Prof Ngoerah Denpasar, and the DNA testing was conducted in Bali, and by the Laboratory Forensic Bareskrim Mabes Polri, from 26 February 2026, with results received on 5 March 2026. ‘The comparison of the DNA profile results indicates that the maternal allele of the mother’s DNA profile matches the maternal material allele of the blood profile on the black Avanza car and the blood profile at Villa Summer in Tabanan, and the DNA profile of the six bone samples we’ve examined earlier, based on a maternity index calculation that the probability of the DNA profile is 99.99 percent,’ said Ariasandy. Specifically, the samples used consisted of six fragments: a molar tooth bone fragment, the clavicle, a femur fragment, a rib, a toe bone, and a tibia fragment. The DNA found in these parts was analysed and identified as belonging to a young male (XY chromosome) whose blood profile matches the blood profile found on the black Avanza car and the villa in Pangkung, Desa Pangkung, Tabanan, leading to the conclusion that he is Ihor Komarav. In addition to naming one suspect, a foreign national with initials CH, police are continuing to pursue six DPOs for kidnapping and alleged mutilation: RM, BK, AS, VN, SM, and DH. ‘We are chasing six people who have been designated as suspects. We have issued a DPO and a Red Notice. We are coordinating with Immigration, Divhubinter, and then Interpol to track down the whereabouts of the perpetrators, whom we suspect have already left the country. All of them are foreign nationals with more than two passports,’ said the former Head of Public Relations of Polda NTT.
