DKPP Launches Creative Video and Journalistic Writing Competition, Here Are the Requirements
The Election Organiser Honours Council (DKPP) is holding a creative video competition and a journalistic writing competition, which opened on 28 April 2026. This is part of the 2026 Ethics Festival activities.
“The 2026 Ethics Festival is a programme aimed at bringing the Election Organiser Code of Ethics closer to the public in particular and DKPP’s work in general,” stated DKPP Secretary Syarmadani in a written statement in Jakarta on Tuesday, 5 May 2026.
According to Syarmadani, this programme demonstrates that DKPP is an inclusive institution that also requires active public participation in enforcing the Election Organiser Code of Ethics (KEPP).
“We realise that the enforcement of KEPP carried out by DKPP would be meaningless without public participation and attention. Therefore, through the Ethics Festival, we want the enforcement of KEPP to be more grounded,” he said.
The overarching theme of this event is ‘Ethics and Electoral Justice’. Nevertheless, Syarmadani said that DKPP has created four sub-themes for the creative video and journalistic writing competitions to make it easier for participants to interpret the main theme.
The four sub-themes are:
Honest and fair elections for Indonesia’s future
Ethical and integrous election organisers, the beginning of civilised democracy
Elections without fraud, a fair and ethical competition
DKPP, the bulwark of ethics for election organisers
According to Syarmadani, the creative video competition is open to the public, while the journalistic writing competition is targeted at journalists or reporters. The total prizes for both competitions amount to Rp45 million.
“The public can register for this competition by submitting their works no later than 31 May 2026. The requirements and conditions of the competition can be seen in the guidebook that we have prepared,” he said.
Here are the requirements and conditions for the creative video competition:
Open to the public.
Maximum of 5 people per team.
Participants may choose one of the specified sub-themes.
Participants may only submit one work.
Video duration: 3-5 minutes.
The video entered in the competition must be an original work that has not previously been competed.
