DKI to Launch Integrated Family Services
Jakarta — The Jakarta provincial government has committed to launching an integrated family development service to provide education, consultation, and other important information to residents of the capital.
“We are committed to presenting a unified family development service ‘One Stop Family Service’,” said Jakarta Deputy Governor Rano Karno at a press conference on Monday.
According to him, the integrated family service will provide residents with educational information and expert consultation to improve family wellbeing.
Additionally, Rano Karno stated that DKI will offer capacity building, mentoring, referrals, and intervention for vulnerable families. “This includes a rapid response service that can be accessed by all families in Jakarta,” he said.
The Regional Regulation Draft (Raperda) on Family Development will also emphasise family development services using a lifecycle approach. This includes mentoring from the prospective couple stage through newlyweds, families with infants, school-age children, adolescents, elderly citizens, and co-parenting arrangements when parents have separated.
“We also have a family development strategy that encompasses resilience aspects with emphasis on education and health programmes, welfare that focuses on economic improvement, and participation through digital literacy to realise quality,” Rano said when responding to various statements from several factions in the Jakarta Regional Parliament.
