The Population and Civil Registration Office (Dukcapil) of DKI Jakarta Province is once again presenting the ‘Friday Evening’ programme, held on the second Friday of every month. This programme is aimed at facilitating Jakarta residents who face difficulties accessing population administration services during regular working hours.

The Head of the DKI Dukcapil Office, Denny Wahyu Haryanto, stated that the programme will commence on 10 April 2026. He noted that many residents have packed schedules, making it hard for them to visit service counters.

“Although digital services are available, not all types of services can be conducted online, such as initial e-ID card recording for residents aged 16-17 years. To accommodate these needs, we are extending service hours every second Friday until 7:30 PM at all service counters,” said Denny in a statement on Thursday (9/4/2026).

Residents aged 16 and above can undergo e-ID card recording, including photographs, biometrics, eye retina scans, and signatures, at the Population Administration Service Unit in their sub-district of domicile. Residents only need to bring their Family Card and birth certificate.

In 2026, 182,412 DKI residents fall into the category of first-time e-ID card recording obligations. However, to date, less than 10 percent have completed the recording.

“There are still 164,443 individuals who have not recorded, mostly in the beginner age group and residents with time constraints. Through Friday Evening, we aim to reach these groups,” he revealed.

The programme has been positively received by schools. The Principal of SMAN 81 Jakarta, Albaini Zuhdi, expressed that her students often struggle because services close after school activities end. “With the extended service hours, our students can have their e-ID photos taken after school. Dukcapil also regularly provides outreach services to schools,” she said.

Denny added that DKI Dukcapil continues to transform to improve services, making them increasingly adaptive, easy, fast, accurate, and free. He also emphasised the importance of population data as the basis for government policy formulation.

In accordance with the Population Administration Law, residents are obliged to report population events and significant events such as births, deaths, moves in or out, and marriages.

In addition to e-ID card recording, Friday Evening also serves other services such as Family Cards, Child Identity Cards, move-in and move-out reports, and civil registrations like birth certificates and death certificates. DKI Dukcapil also offers SAPA (Saturday Population Administration Service) every third week and outreach services at schools, residential areas, and offices.

Residents can access further information through the official channel @dukcapiljakarta, the website kependudukancapil.jakarta.go.id, WA Jawara 0812-120-120-31, or the call centre 1500-031.
