DKI Information Commission Opens Opportunities for Public Bodies to Participate in Monitoring-Evaluation Process
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The DKI Jakarta Information Commission (KI DKI) is opening wide opportunities for public bodies to participate in the monitoring and evaluation (monev) process, ranging from regional work units (SKPD), sub-district offices, schools, to vertical institutions including the Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu).
“The number of informative public bodies continues to increase, from 67 to 189 public bodies. This shows a collective commitment to improving transparency,” said KI DKI Commissioner for Education, Socialisation, and Advocacy (ESA) Ferid Nugroho in Jakarta on Tuesday.
Ferid made this statement while receiving a working visit from the Central Jakarta Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) at the KI DKI office.
Ferid welcomed the visit as part of efforts to strengthen synergy among public bodies in realising information openness.
According to him, KI DKI consistently encourages improvements in the quality of public bodies through annual monev activities.
The monev includes six assessment variables, with digitalisation as one of the indicators carrying significant weight.
“What is managed by public bodies must be accessible to the public, including through the use of digital media and social media,” he said.
Ferid emphasised that monev is not a competition, but rather a form of responsibility for public bodies in providing quality information services to the public.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of Central Jakarta Bawaslu, Cristian Nelson Pangkey, stated that this visit serves as a moment for establishing relations and strengthening synergy between institutions, especially since both are located in the same office complex.
“We hope that in the future there will be further evaluation and assistance, both from KI DKI and the National Bawaslu, so that public information management at Central Jakarta Bawaslu becomes even more optimal,” he said.
Cristian added that Central Jakarta Bawaslu is ready to participate in the monitoring and evaluation process as part of efforts to improve the quality of public information services.
The Coordinator of the Violation Handling, Data, and Information Division of Central Jakarta Bawaslu, Dimas Triyanto Putro, said that the visit aims to strengthen coordination and enhance the capacity for managing public information.
“We want to gain a more comprehensive understanding of strategies to maintain the informative predicate in accordance with KI DKI policies, including the boundaries of information that must be published and that which is excluded,” said Dimas.
He added that strengthening public information governance is important for increasing stakeholder participation and supporting the conduct of democratic and transparent elections.
