The DKI Jakarta Environmental Agency (DLH) is responding to the build-up of waste at several points affected by the landslide at the Bantargebang Integrated Waste Processing Site (TPST). DLH Jakarta aims for waste transport to Bantargebang to return to normal this week.

Head of the DKI Jakarta Environmental Agency, Asep Kuswanto, revealed that the TPST Bantargebang landslide has impacted waste transport operations there. As a result, transport times have been adjusted (shifting) to prevent truck queues and congestion in the area or access routes to the site.

“Post-Eid and following the landslide incident at TPST Bantargebang some time ago, waste has built up at several points in the city. We are not hiding this situation and extend our apologies to the public for the inconvenience caused,” said Asep to reporters on Friday (3/4/2026).

Asep stated that they are not imposing quotas on waste deliveries but are optimising the distribution process through a more measured work system and shift scheduling for waste trucks. Currently, waste transport is divided into three shifts per day to make the delivery flow smoother and minimise vehicle queues.

With this pattern, he assured that waiting times for waste trucks remain controlled and do not exceed three hours. In addition to maintaining operational efficiency, this step is also part of efforts to protect the safety and health of drivers.

“We want to ensure that drivers work in safe and orderly conditions, while maintaining the smooth operation of waste transport,” he said.

Asep conveyed that they have also cleared waste at several points that had built up. At the Kali Anyar TPS, the clearing process has been completed, and the site is now clean.

Meanwhile, the Rawadas TPS, which was an illegal TPS, has been permanently closed. The site is now completely free of waste.

Handling is also underway at the Kencana TPS, located under the Wiyoto Wiyono Toll Road (Tanjung Priok Toll). After the clearing process is complete, this site will be permanently closed with the installation of iron fences and strengthened supervision through a joint post involving the Village Consultative Agency (LMK), Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP), and police elements.

He targets that within this week, waste transport operations to TPST Bantargebang can return to normal. Remaining waste from the post-Eid return flow is also being addressed promptly and distributed to processing facilities, including TPST Bantargebang and the RDF Plant.

“We are committed to accelerating waste handling in the city so as not to cause inconvenience to residents. All DLH personnel continue to work maximally so that conditions recover quickly and waste transport services run optimally,” he added.
