DKI Education Department Acknowledges Data Accuracy Is the Biggest Challenge in Distributing the Jakarta Smart Card (KJP)
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Jakarta Education Department (Disdik) acknowledged that the biggest challenge in data collection for Kartu Jakarta Pintar (KJP) recipients is ensuring that recipient data is truly accurate.
Nahdiana, head of Disdik DKI Jakarta, said that the data of KJP recipients is currently linked to various social databases to ensure education assistance reaches students in need.
‘The biggest challenge in data collection for KJP recipients in Jakarta is ensuring the recipient data is truly accurate, up-to-date, and targeted,’ Nahdiana said when contacted via WhatsApp on Tuesday (19 May 2026).
‘Recipient data is linked to various social databases such as DTKS (Integrated Social Welfare Data), Dukcapil population data, vehicle data, and asset ownership data,’ she added.
Therefore, the Jakarta Provincial Government periodically conducts re-verification and validation to ensure the KJP programme remains targeted and reaches students who truly need it.
‘Data penerima dipadankan dengan DTKS, data kependudukan Dukcapil, serta diverifikasi bersama sekolah dan Dinas Pendidikan,’ ucapnya.
Moreover, periodic evaluations are carried out to ensure the aid genuinely reaches families in need.
Disdik DKI Jakarta also recognises ongoing public feedback regarding KJP recipients who are deemed not well targeted.
‘If inconsistencies are found, the recipient’s status can be reevaluated in accordance with applicable rules,’ Nahdiana stated.
On the other hand, Nahdiana noted that one of the most tangible impacts of the KJP programme is that more children from low-income families can continue their schooling.
She added that the Jakarta Provincial Government continues to evaluate the development of the KJP programme to remain relevant to current educational needs.
‘This includes considering digital learning needs, changes in education costs, and the socio-economic conditions of society so that the programme’s benefits are optimised,’ Nahdiana said.
