DKI DPRD urges NCICD project to focus on most impacted areas
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Commission D of the DKI Jakarta DPRD has stressed that the maturity of planning and the determination of the National Capital Integrated Coastal Development (NCICD) construction must be a priority and focused on the most impacted points.
“Especially areas vulnerable to tidal flooding. We hope it will be completed quickly,” said the Chair of Commission D of the DKI DPRD, Yuke Yurike, during a visit to the NCICD Paket 2 project in Ancol, North Jakarta, on Tuesday.
She said the visit to Ancol, specifically at Jalan Taman Marina, North Jakarta, was a response to the tidal flooding incident that had affected Jakarta’s coastal areas.
Yuke stated that Commission D, which works in the development sector, is also ensuring infrastructure readiness while evaluating the progress of the project amid uncertain weather conditions.
She further emphasised that the visit was part of the legislative oversight function regarding the implementation of the water resources sector project.
During the visit, Commission D found many tasks that still needed to be completed in the coastal flood control project.
Yuke acknowledged that several points were still in the planning stage and had not shown significant progress on the ground, thus requiring serious attention, given that the project must not be prolonged.
“There is still a lot that is unfinished,” Yuke revealed.
In addition to technical aspects, Commission D also highlighted the need for fair project implementation because large-scale infrastructure development, such as NCICD, must not only benefit certain groups or areas.
