DJP: 155,495 Taxpayers in Aceh Submit Annual Tax Returns
The Aceh Regional Office of the Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) stated that as of now, 155,495 taxpayers in Indonesia’s westernmost province have submitted their annual tax return notices (SPT) for the 2025 tax year.
Ahmad Djamhari, Head of the Aceh Regional DJP Office, said in Banda Aceh on Friday that taxpayers must submit SPT filings annually. The submission deadline for individual taxpayers is 31 March 2024 and for corporate taxpayers is 30 April 2024.
“Based on data as of 5 March 2026, taxpayers who have submitted SPT for the 2025 tax year number 155,495, encompassing both individual and corporate income tax returns,” he said.
Of the 155,495 taxpayers who have submitted SPT, he noted that 153,242 are individual taxpayers. Corporate taxpayers who have submitted SPT number 2,253.
Ahmad stated that the total number of taxpayers required to file annual SPT returns in Aceh Province is 386,888, consisting of 372,467 individual taxpayers and 14,421 corporate taxpayers.
“According to regulations, annual income tax SPT submission for individual taxpayers must be made within three months after the end of the tax year or by 31 March. For corporate taxpayers, the latest deadline is four months after the tax year or 30 April,” he said.
Ahmad noted that annual SPT filing is regulated under Law Number 6 of 1983 concerning General Tax Provisions and Procedures, as amended by Law Number 6 of 2023 on the enactment of Government Regulation in Lieu of Law Number 2 of 2022 on Job Creation into law.
Under this law, he said, taxpayers who file late or fail to report their annual SPT after the deadline face a fine of Rp100,000 for individual taxpayers. For corporate taxpayers who fail to submit annual SPT by the legally stipulated deadline, the fine is Rp1 million.
“In addition to fines, criminal sanctions can also be imposed on taxpayers who intentionally fail to file or report their annual SPT,” Ahmad said.
Regarding obstacles to annual SPT filing, he noted that generally individual taxpayers have not received tax withholding certificates from their employers, which form the basis for completing the annual SPT.
“Another obstacle is that taxpayers are not yet accustomed to filing annual SPT using the Coretax application, which was newly implemented this year,” Ahmad said.
The DJP Aceh urged both individual and corporate taxpayers to file or submit their annual SPT well before the final deadline to avoid crowded filing queues. “If taxpayers experience difficulties filing their annual SPT through Coretax, DJP Aceh is ready to provide assistance to completion. We are also continuing to campaign for support in filing annual SPT,” said Ahmad Djamhari.
