Fakultas Ekonomi dan Bisnis (FEB) Universitas Jenderal Achmad Yani (Unjani) continues to strengthen students’ character through discipline-based education and leadership. This approach is one of FEB Unjani’s main differentiators compared to other universities, as well as an effort to prepare graduates ready to enter the workforce or start their own businesses. The Dean of FEB Unjani, Dr Mochamad Vrans Romi, SE, MM, CHRA, explained that Unjani is a university under the administration of a foundation belonging to the Indonesian Army’s Land Forces through Yayasan Kartika Eka Paksi. This also shapes a campus culture that emphasises discipline, leadership, and a patriotic spirit. “Students at Unjani not only receive academic education but also character formation through discipline and leadership training. That is our differentiation compared to other campuses,” Romi said during an interview with Republika at the FEB Unjani building in Cimahi, on Friday (6 March 2026). He explained that one implementation of these values is manifested through the Basic Training in Discipline and Leadership (LDKK) attended by new students. The activity is designed to instill the character of discipline, responsibility, and leadership ability from the early stages of study. In addition to character formation, FEB Unjani also emphasises strengthening competencies in business and entrepreneurship. According to Romi, students are not only given theory but are also guided to develop real ventures during their studies. “Because this is FEB, we encourage students to start building businesses while still in college. In fact, in several courses they are directed so that the businesses they run have legal status up to forming a legal entity,” he said. Currently FEB Unjani has four study programmes: Master of Management, Master of Accounting, Bachelor of Management, and Bachelor of Accounting. Romi added that FEB Unjani graduates are directed to have three main competencies: first-level managers, independent young entrepreneurs, and consultants in management or accounting. “With a combination of academic education, character formation, and business experience, we hope FEB Unjani graduates are not only job-ready but also able to create jobs,” he said. He also noted that interest from prospective students in Unjani continues to rise. Last year, the total number of new students at Unjani reached around 7,200, making it one of the higher‑education institutions with the largest intake of new students in West Java.
