Dino Patti Djalal Urges Trump to Halt Iranian Attacks and War Provocations
The Founder of the Foreign Policy Community of Indonesia (FPCI), Dino Patti Djalal, has issued a strong call to United States President Donald Trump to immediately halt war provocations. Djalal urged Trump to cease attacks against Iran and stop serving as a tool for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s interests.
The statement was delivered by the former Indonesian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs through a video message monitored in Jakarta on Friday, 13 March 2026. Djalal emphasised the importance of the US returning to the path of peace and respecting the sovereignty of other nations.
Djalal specifically highlighted Benjamin Netanyahu’s influence on US foreign policy. In his view, Trump must cease being manipulated into waging wars that merely destabilise global stability.
Whilst Djalal appreciated Trump’s initial intention to be known as the President of Peace within the US National Security Strategy, he assessed that current actions on the ground are completely contrary to this goal.
He also expressed appreciation for the 20-point ceasefire plan in Gaza intended to end Israeli massacres, though he noted structural problems within the proposed Peace Board.
Djalal issued strong condemnation of recent military attacks involving the United States and Israel against Iran. The attacks have reportedly resulted in the death of Iranian leader Ayatollah Khamenei.
He characterised these actions as reflecting the emergence of aggressive American nationalism that is imperialist in nature and lacking moral compass. According to Djalal, America is now acting as an aggressor state fuelling instability in the Middle East.
“Instability and new conflicts now loom over the Middle East. All of this is your responsibility, Mr. President, and Israel’s. Instead of spreading peace, you are spreading war,” Djalal stated firmly.
Beyond the Iran issue, Djalal also called on Donald Trump to take the following strategic steps to restore respect for the UN Charter and international law. He expressed hope that the United States can demonstrate its integrity as a dignified nation by building diplomatic bridges rather than creating global divisions.
