Digital Transformation Reshapes Business Landscape, UNM Prepares Young Generation to Face Industry Challenges
Business transformation in the digital technology era is increasingly accelerating changes across various industrial sectors. The utilisation of technologies such as cloud computing, process automation, and artificial intelligence (AI)-based data analysis has now become a primary need for companies to enhance efficiency, innovation, and competitiveness.
This phenomenon opens up significant opportunities for the young generation, particularly students, to engage directly in the digital industrial ecosystem. Companies are no longer just seeking graduates with theoretical capabilities, but also talents who can integrate technology into business strategies, decision-making, and product development.
Based on global data, more than 60 percent of companies in Southeast Asia are undergoing digital transformation to face increasingly tight competition. This indicates a high demand for adaptive human resources with strong digital competencies.
Bryan Givan, Head of the Universitas Nusa Mandiri (UNM) Jatiwaringin campus, emphasised that digital transformation is not only the responsibility of companies but also a strategic opportunity for students to prepare themselves from an early stage.
“Students who can understand how technology can enhance business processes will have significant added value. They not only master theory but are also able to apply knowledge in the context of the digital industry,” he stated on Sunday (19/4/2026).
He explained that digital transformation demands synergy between technical skills and business understanding. Therefore, students need to be equipped with skills in information systems, data analysis, and the utilisation of various digital tools to support company strategies.
As a Digital Business Campus, UNM offers educational programmes relevant to industry needs. The Information Systems study programme equips students with the ability to design and manage digital systems, integrate technology into business processes, and utilise data for strategic decision-making.
In addition, the Digital Business study programme provides understanding of digital marketing strategies, technology-based project management, and business innovation development in the digital era.
Bryan added that the ability to adapt to technological developments is the main key to success in the modern era.
“Students who master digital technology while understanding business aspects will be better prepared to face industry challenges. They have the potential to become innovators capable of delivering new solutions for companies and society,” he further stated.
UNM is known as a Digital Business Campus, committed to producing a young generation that is adaptive, innovative, and ready to contribute to digital transformation across various industrial sectors.
Through integrated learning between technology and business, students are expected not only to be ready to enter the workforce but also to become agents of change that drive innovation and create sustainable solutions in the digital era.
