JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Financial Services Authority (OJK)’s policy to remove the display of credit records below Rp 1 million in the Financial Information Service System (SLIK) has been enthusiastically welcomed by housing developers. This regulation is seen as opening wider access for low-income communities (MBR) to obtain subsidised home ownership loans (KPR). This enthusiasm was echoed by five housing developer associations, including Real Estate Indonesia (REI) and the Association of Settlement and People’s Housing Developers (Himperra), at the OJK office in Jakarta on Monday (13/4/2026). General Chairman of the Central Executive Board (Ketum DPP) of REI, Joko Suranto, expressed appreciation for the policy, viewing it as a form of support for the public. “President Prabowo’s 3 Million Houses programme is a very noble initiative. The supporting policy from OJK today is a measure of commitment to the people,” Joko said at the OJK office in Jakarta on Monday (13/4/2026). “Representing low-income communities who will ultimately gain broader opportunities to utilise this as a way to improve welfare,” he added. Joko also expressed appreciation to the Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP) Maruarar Sirait, or Ara, and OJK Commissioner Chair Friderica Widyasari Dewi, or Kiki, for their support of the housing sector. “Thank you for the great energy in always accompanying us and supporting growth in the property sector, especially for low-income communities,” he said. In agreement, General Chairman of the Central Executive Board of the Association of Settlement and People’s Housing Developers (HIMPERRA), Ari Tri Priyono, stated that the policy has long been awaited by both developers and the public. “This is something that has been long awaited, not only by developers but also by MBR communities,” Ari said. He described the on-the-ground situation, where many prospective subsidised home buyers failed to obtain KPR due to small credit records in SLIK. “So far, out of 20 people who booked, only 3 could be processed. The remaining 17 were hindered by SLIK, even though the amounts were small, like Rp 50,000 or Rp 100,000,” Ari said. According to him, OJK’s policy to only display credit records above Rp 1 million will serve as the main gateway to expand financing access.
