Deputy National Police Chief Komjen Pol Dedi Prasetyo stated that vehicle traffic flow leaving Jakarta on the second day of Operation Ketupat 2026 remained smooth.

Monitoring was conducted from the air to observe directly the traffic conditions on several major toll road sections.

“Overall, I monitored from the air, and the traffic leaving Jakarta is running very smoothly. Although there has been an increase, it remains in the very smooth category,” he said when met at the Command Centre KM 29, Cikarang, Bekasi, West Java, on Saturday (14 March).

In addition to monitoring traffic, Dedi also ensured that the situation regarding public security and order during the initial phase of the Lebaran exodus period remained under control.

“Overall, the security and order situation is also very conducive. Although there has been an increase in traffic flow, it remains in a category that can be managed very well,” he said.

After conducting aerial monitoring, the Deputy National Police Chief continued his inspection to Command Centre KM 29 to verify the readiness of technology infrastructure used to monitor toll road conditions in real time.

He explained that from the results of monitoring, traffic conditions on several major toll road sections remained smooth, ranging from the Cikampek direction to Cirebon, the Central Java border at the Kalikangkung toll, to routes heading towards East Java via Ngawi.

“We also saw that the toll road heading towards Merak is in very smooth condition. At Merak, already at the Cilegon exit, efforts have been made to divert, particularly three-axle vehicles, directing them out of the toll road onto arterial routes,” he said.

Operation Ketupat 2026 runs for 13 days, from 13 March to 25 March 2026, involving a total of 161,243 personnel from various agencies.

In this operation, the police have prepared 2,746 posts consisting of 1,624 security posts, 779 service posts, and 343 integrated posts functioning as information centres and service points for people travelling during the exodus.

Furthermore, security efforts are focused on 185,607 vital objects and crowded locations, including mosques, locations for Eid prayer ceremonies, tourist attractions, shopping centres, terminals, harbours, railway stations, and airports.
