Deputy Minister of PANRB Emphasises the Importance of Cross-Agency Collaboration in Implementing People's Schools
People’s Schools are not merely about providing educational facilities but also opening opportunities for children from underprivileged families to grow, learn, and build a better future.
This was stated by the Deputy Minister for State Apparatus Utilisation and Bureaucratic Reform (Wamen PANRB), Purwadi Arianto, during his visit to Sekolah Rakyat Menengah Pertama (SRMP) 19 in Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara, on Tuesday (12/5/2026).
During his visit, Purwadi assessed that SRMP 19 Kupang demonstrates how the President’s Quick Best Results Programme (PHTC) in education can open broader access and opportunities for Indonesian children.
According to him, cross-agency collaboration in implementing People’s Schools is a key factor in shaping a smart and competitive generation.
“We appreciate the collaboration of all parties, from the Ministry of Social Affairs, the East Nusa Tenggara Provincial Government (Pemprov NTT), the City Government (Pemkot), educators, to school managers who together support the implementation of this programme,” Purwadi said in a written statement received by Kompas.com.
“Therefore, this dormitory-based learning approach is part of efforts to build character, independence, discipline, and self-confidence from an early age,” Purwadi added.
He hopes that SRMP 19 Kupang can continue to be a safe and comfortable place to nurture the students’ learning spirit in achieving their aspirations.
“Ultimately, the measure of this programme’s success is not just the number of schools built, but how much hope and future can be opened for Indonesian children,” Purwadi stated.
Meanwhile, the Principal of SRMP 19 Kupang, Felipina Agustina Kale, appreciated Purwadi’s visit which directly reviewed the implementation of People’s Schools in Kupang City.
“I thank President Prabowo for providing the People’s Schools programme. It is an extraordinary programme,” she said.
Felipina added that the programme helps reach students who previously had difficulty accessing education.
“I hope this programme continues to run and we can jointly oversee its implementation to ensure it proceeds smoothly,” she said.
