Deputy Minister of PANRB Checks Readiness of Public Transport at Airports and Ports
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Deputy Minister of State Apparatus Utilization and Bureaucratic Reform Purwadi Arianto conducted an inspection of the readiness of public transport services in airport and port areas to ensure the fulfilment of public service standards during Eid that are of high quality, effective, and oriented towards public satisfaction. “The government is committed to ensuring that transportation services during the Idul Fitri period run optimally. We are encouraging strengthened coordination between agencies as well as multimodal transport integration to guarantee the smooth flow of mudik and return journeys, and to minimise potential service disruptions,” said Purwadi in his statement in Jakarta on Thursday. This was conveyed by Purwadi after conducting a review of services at Soekarno-Hatta Airport and Tanjung Priok Port on Wednesday (18/3). Purwadi emphasised that public transport service providers in airport and port areas must ensure the fulfilment of minimum service standards, covering aspects of security, safety, comfort, affordability, and punctuality. In addition, the professionalism of personnel in providing responsive, friendly, and integrity-based services is also an important factor in realising excellent service. This inspection is part of efforts to strengthen oversight of the implementation of bureaucratic reform, particularly in the transportation sector as one of the strategic public services that directly interacts with the public. During the activity, Purwadi also reviewed various modes of transport available, including ticketing services, mass transport, and shuttles integrated with other transport systems. “Public transport services at airports and ports are the first face of public services felt by the public. Therefore, the quality of services must truly be maintained, both in terms of security, comfort, and ease of access,” he stated. During the inspection, Deputy Minister of Transportation Suntana was present, who also ensured that all transportation services run safely, smoothly, and under control. Currently, the Ministry of Transportation together with all stakeholders has carried out various preparations to ensure the smooth flow of mudik and return flows. “We understand that Idul Fitri is an important moment for the public to gather with family. Therefore, we are committed to providing comfortable and user-friendly transportation services, so that the public can experience a safe and enjoyable journey,” said Suntana. On that occasion, the Deputy Minister of PANRB also held a dialogue with service users and managers to obtain direct input as material for evaluation and continuous improvement. Through this activity, it is hoped that the quality of public transport service provision at airports and ports will increasingly improve, in line with the government’s commitment to realising good governance and public services that are transparent and accountable. “Input from the public is an important part of efforts to improve service quality. The government is committed to continuously making improvements so that public services are increasingly responsive to public needs,” said Purwadi.
