Jakarta - The Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah (Wamenhaj) of Indonesia, Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak, has urged the public to be vigilant against offers of mujamalah visas that are starting to appear ahead of the 2026 Hajj departure.

Dahnil stated that the proliferation of visa offers outside the official Hajj visas, promising quick departures without queues, could potentially harm prospective pilgrims.

“Pilgrims should not be deceived by promises, whether it’s mujamalah visas or even furoda visas, which do not exist,” Dahnil said when met at the Ministry of Hajj office on Thamrin, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday (15/4/2026).

Dahnil explained that the availability of mujamalah visas is under the authority of Saudi Arabia, outside the official Hajj quotas allocated to each country.

According to Dahnil, the certainty level for holders of mujamalah visas to depart for the Holy Land is also very low compared to regular Hajj visas and special Hajj visas, which are indeed official quotas.

“What is certain is the Hajj visa based on quotas; anything beyond that has a high level of uncertainty. There will be people selling visas on the internet as if they can obtain mujamalah visas, but the certainty level is very low,” he said.

“The only certain visa is one: the Hajj visa based on quotas,” he added.

Previously, Dahnil had stated that the Saudi Arabian government is not issuing furoda Hajj visas this year.

“There are none, so this year Saudi Arabia is not issuing furoda Hajj visas. So, clearly, the legal visa is called the Hajj visa,” he said when met at his office on Thursday (9/4/2026).

He emphasised that currently, by regulation, there are only two official channels for Indonesians to perform the Hajj pilgrimage: regular Hajj and special Hajj.

Thus, offers for T-zero Hajj are a scam modus operandi that lures pilgrims with promises of immediate departure without queuing.
