Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Encourages Youth to Harness Economic Opportunities in Digital Era
Jakarta — Indonesia’s Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene Umar has stated that Ramadan represents an opportune moment to encourage young people to take advantage of learning platforms that can enhance economic prospects and foster courage to innovate in the technological era through a strategic synergy between the Ministry of Creative Economy and Mahir Digital via KURMA 2.0.
“It is important to identify the right platform for learning about digital assets and understanding the characteristics of your target market. KURMA 2.0 demonstrates how collaboration and adaptation through the use of technology can enhance individual capacity during this Ramadan period,” Irene said as confirmed by ANTARA in Jakarta on Monday.
Irene noted that Indonesia possesses Southeast Asia’s largest market, with a population exceeding 280 million people. Through the Mahir Digital platform, stakeholders can reach a significantly broader global market.
The Deputy Minister of Creative Economy also believes that for technology-savvy young people, earning money from home is possible as long as they remain productive. This is because the digital era is not about how long an individual has been involved in business, but rather how willing they are to learn and adapt to technology.
Furthermore, Deputy Minister Irene noted that the Mahir Digital platform aligns with the Gen Matic Programme, initiated by the Ministry of Creative Economy as a flagship initiative aimed at enhancing young people’s competence in capitalising on digital economic opportunities as affiliators and professional content creators through industry-based training in the creative sector.
“KURMA 2.0 focuses on strengthening digital literacy, developing digital entrepreneurship, and empowering communities through the use of technology. These three aspects are highly relevant to collective efforts in building an inclusive, innovative, and sustainable creative economy ecosystem, thereby opening wide-ranging opportunities in the digital era,” the Deputy Minister added.
The potential for collaboration between Mahir Digital and the Gen Matic Programme can begin in the form of joint training, business mentoring, and coaching for programme participants. With extensive networks and expertise, this collaboration will create greater impact for Indonesia’s digital economy growth.
“When an individual is able to create a digital asset, that work can be purchased repeatedly by many people and has the potential to generate passive income,” added the Deputy Minister of Creative Economy.
Several participants have already become members of the Mahir Digital Platform, which has provided regular guidance including both offline and online classes, daily consultations, and a structured curriculum featuring 14 chapters with more than 70 learning video resources covering topics such as mindset, product research, digital traffic, digital advertising preparation, and numerous other digital business materials.
The Mahir Digital Ramadan Lecture activity is hoped to be more than merely a ceremonial event, but rather to foster a continuously growing community that mutually supports the development of digital-era enterprises.
Participants are encouraged to take courage in beginning, experiment, and capitalise on the Ramadan period to reflect on their life goals and work that will positively impact society.
“In KURMA 2.0, it is not just about learning, but also breaking fast and performing tarawih prayers together in circles of like-minded individuals. This becomes a place where we can learn from experts and digital business and marketing practitioners,” said Fahmi.
The KURMA 2.0 event is made more vibrant through a series of beneficial activities such as discussion sessions addressing business mentality, the power of winning organic marketing, unlocking powerful beliefs before sales, and numerous other engaging agendas that provide strategic insights for innovation and collaboration.
