Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs states that network in Bakauheni Port remains reliable during return flow
In Bakauheni, the average speed reaches 30 Mbps with a 96 per cent success rate. The condition is very good,” he said after inspecting the Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr (RAFI) 2026 Monitoring Post in Bakauheni, Lampung, on Friday (27/3/2026).
Quoted from the official website of the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs (Kemkomdigi) in Jakarta on Saturday, Angga stated that based on field monitoring results, the quality of telecommunications services remained maintained despite a surge in traffic at several crowded mudik points.
During his visit, the Deputy Minister also directly dialogued with the public to ensure the user experience of the network during the journey.
“The public we met felt safe and the communication services were felt to be good during the journey,” said Angga.
Kemkomdigi also recorded around 10,000 reports of service disruptions during the mudik and return flow period. These disruptions were generally triggered by traffic surges during peak hours.
However, all reports have been handled by mobile operators.
“We monitored around 10,000 disruption reports to mobile operators, and all have been resolved,” said Angga.
He explained that the traffic surge at the peak of the return flow temporarily caused a decrease in speed at some points, but this condition had been anticipated through network strengthening.
In addition, the government through the Monitoring Agency also tightened spectrum frequency supervision to maintain communication quality, including in the transportation and safety sectors.
Supervision was carried out in various strategic areas to prevent the use of illegal frequencies that could potentially disrupt communications.
“The Monitoring Agency is tasked with ensuring there is no use of illegal frequencies that can disrupt communications, especially those related to safety,” he said.
To support network capacity improvements, 5G services are also available in the Lampung region, including the Bakauheni Port area.
Angga also appreciated the readiness of the officers who remained on standby during the Lebaran period to ensure that public connectivity remains maintained.
“Monitoring Agency officers and operators work 24 hours until 29 March,” he said.
Kemkomdigi reaffirmed its commitment to continue maintaining telecommunications services so that the public remains connected during the Lebaran return flow.
