Deputy Minister of Basic and Secondary Education outlines prerequisites for effective learning digitalisation
Interactive Digital Boards (PID) can serve as a creative space to deliver teaching materials on regional languages, local wisdom, and content close to children’s lives. Makassar (ANTARA) - Deputy Minister of Basic and Secondary Education (Wamendikdasmen) Fajar Riza Ul Haq has outlined several important prerequisites to ensure that the digitalisation of learning runs effectively. In his remarks in Makassar on Wednesday, the Deputy Minister referred to various international learning experiences on educational digital transformation, stating that the first prerequisite is strong political commitment. According to him, the presence of Interactive Digital Boards (PID) in Early Childhood Education Units (PAUD) is one proof of President Prabowo Subianto’s commitment to building human resources from an early age. This political commitment becomes an important foundation, he said, so that learning digitalisation does not stop as a procurement programme but truly impacts the quality of children’s learning. Thirdly, continuous and equitable teacher training. Deputy Minister Fajar mentioned that the government, together with Commission X of the House of Representatives, has allocated around Rp1 trillion for teacher training so that all teachers have the opportunity to enhance their capacity. Fourthly, strong learning content. In the Indonesian context, according to him, PID content is not enough to be merely digitally engaging, but must also be relevant to children’s needs, school culture, language, and their social environment. Fifthly, good device maintenance. Deputy Minister Fajar emphasised that the sustainability of PID utilisation requires cooperation from all parties, from schools, teachers, parents, to the surrounding community. According to him, PID is a learning asset that must be maintained together so that its benefits can be felt in the long term. “We must maintain this PID together. Schools, teachers, parents, and the surrounding community need to feel ownership, because this device is present for the benefit of our children,” said Deputy Minister Fajar Riza Ul Haq.
