Deputy Minister: National Ceramic Industry Must Strengthen Global Competitiveness
Deputy Minister of Industry Faisol Riza stated that the national ceramic industry must continue strengthening global competitiveness through quality improvement, standard implementation, and transformation towards green industry. According to Faisol, holding the exhibition is an important momentum for the revival of national industry, particularly the ceramics, building materials, and property sectors which are closely linked in the construction supply chain. “The holding of the 11th Keramika Indonesia Expo, Megabuild, and Megaproperty 2026 is a crucial momentum for the revival of national industry towards the position of the world’s top four producers,” said Faisol in his remarks opening the 11th Keramika Indonesia Expo, held concurrently with Megabuild and Megaproperty 2026 at the Nusantara International Convention Exhibition (NICE), PIK 2, North Jakarta, on Wednesday (4/6). He stated that the national ceramic industry is currently supported by an installed capacity of 650 million square metres. Policy support for the Indonesian National Standard (SNI) and the Domestic Component Level (TKDN) is also considered important for strengthening the competitiveness of local products. “Supported by an installed capacity of 650 million square metres as well as the strengthening of SNI and TKDN policies, we are optimistic that this sector is ready to transform into a green industry that is highly competitive in the international market,” said Faisol. Faisol added that cross-sector collaboration in the event can provide a space for industry players to accelerate the adoption of modern technology. According to him, innovation in the building materials, ceramics, and property sectors is needed to support sustainable national economic growth. Chairman of the Indonesian Ceramic Industry Association (ASAKI), Edy Suyanto, said Keramika 2026 is an important space to showcase the capabilities of the national ceramic industry. “Keramika 2026 is a proud showcase for the national ceramic industry. We want to prove that the quality, design, and technology of local manufacturers are ready to compete in the global market while also meeting the needs of premium projects in Indonesia,” said Edy. Meanwhile, President Director of Panorama Media Royanto Handaya stated that holding the three exhibitions simultaneously was designed to meet the needs of industry players in one ecosystem. According to Royanto, architects, contractors, interior designers, property developers, investors, and consumers now require more efficient access to material innovation, building technology, ceramic products, and property investment opportunities. “We designed this 2026 edition not merely as an exhibition, but as a catalyst for economic growth. By uniting Megabuild, Keramika, and Megaproperty, we provide a stage for the best material innovation, architectural technology, and property investment so that all stakeholders can accelerate on one platform,” said Royanto. The event involved collaboration with ASAKI, the Indonesian Interior Designers Association (HDII), the Indonesian Institute of Architects (IAI), and Indonesia Design, and received support from the Ministry of Industry, the Ministry of Public Works, the Ministry of Creative Economy, the Ministry of Tourism, and the Centre for Ceramics. During the exhibition, several brands from Indonesia and the ASEAN region took part, including Arwana, Quadra, Milan, Roman, Indogress, and Concord. Products displayed included building materials, smart home technology, ceramic products, sanitary ware, manufacturing technology, as well as residential and commercial property projects. Megabuild, Keramika, and Megaproperty 2026 took place from 4 to 7 June 2026 in Halls 5, 6, and 7 of NICE, PIK 2, North Jakarta. The exhibition was open to the public free of charge from 10.00 to 19.00 WIB.
