Republika hosted a Grand Launch of an Islamic artificial intelligence platform named Aiman & Aisha at the Auditorium of the National Library of the Republic of Indonesia in Jakarta on Wednesday, 4 March 2026. Deputy Minister for Communications and Digital (Wamenkomdigi), Nezar Patria, who attended the launch, welcomed the Islamic AI launched by Republika.

Nezar said the event marked the launch of an Islamic AI named Aiman & Aisha by Republika. It is essentially a chatbot-based application aimed at consultations or a question-and-answer service on Islam.

‘We welcome this as one of the efforts by the media to adopt AI technology in line with the needs of society,’ Nezar told Republika in the National Library Auditorium.

Nezar noted that Republika is known as a media outlet with a broad Muslim readership, so introducing an Islamic AI named Aiman & Aisha is a fitting strategy.

‘Tod… I already tried asking a number of questions to the AI, and the answers and responses were quite fast from Aiman & Aisha,’ he said.

Nezar added that it still needs development enhancements but this is a good start. Therefore, he welcomed the launch of the Islamic AI Aiman & Aisha with enthusiasm, hoping it will further enrich Indonesia’s AI technology landscape.

In the same venue, BytePlus Head of Partner Management, Mochamad Galih, said that BytePlus and Republika are developing Aiman & Aisha together. BytePlus and Republika are seeking to support artificial intelligence.

‘We can grow together with our colleagues here to support the advancement of AI technology in Indonesia,’ Galih said.

Galih expressed pride in Republika for developing Aiman & Aisha and thanked them for the cooperation and support. ‘So we are ready to support the advancement of technology based on religion,’ he added.
