The Deputy Chief of the Metro Jakarta Police, Brigadier General Dekananto Eko Purwono, inspected preparations for the mudik surge at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (Soetta). He ensured that the 2026 Ramadan exodus would proceed safely.

During his visit, Brigadier General Dekananto inspected the Soetta Airport Service Post as part of Operation Ketupat Jaya 2026. The inspection was conducted to ensure that service to the public ran optimally, particularly for travellers requiring assistance in the airport area.

He directly observed the readiness of personnel, service facilities, and the support system prepared for passengers. One priority was the free terminal transfer service to assist mobility for users at Soekarno-Hatta Airport.

“We want the presence of this service post to be not only about security, but also about service. Travellers should feel assisted, safe, and cared for, especially those who need help when changing terminals,” said Dekananto in his statement on Tuesday (17 March 2026).

He explained that the free terminal transfer service was prioritised for persons with disabilities, mothers and children, elderly passengers, and users facing urgent circumstances. Members of the public experiencing difficulties would receive immediate assistance to ensure their journey proceeded smoothly.

“Mudik is a moment of family togetherness. Therefore, we want the police service to be present with a human touch, providing convenience, and helping the public from the moment they arrive until they continue their journey,” he said.

Meanwhile, Head of Public Relations of the Metro Jakarta Police, Senior Commissioner Budi Hermanto, urged the public to utilise the Soetta Airport Service Post. He asked the public not to hesitate to report if they needed assistance.

“Anyone needing assistance should immediately contact officers at nearby locations or the nearest service post. If you require rapid police assistance, the public can also contact the call centre on 110. We want to ensure that mudik is not only safe, but also comfortable, easy, and joyful for all users,” said Budi.
