Jakarta (ANTARA) - Deputy Interior Minister Ribka Haluk stated that policy alignment between the central government and regional governments is the primary key to supporting the success of the national strategic programme (PSN). In that context, the Ministry of Home Affairs plays a role in overseeing regulatory readiness while facilitating regional governments whose territories are traversed by the programme. This step is to ensure that central and regional policies run in harmony and effectively. “The strategic role of the Ministry of Home Affairs in this regard is to oversee and facilitate all regional governments, especially those traversed by this national strategic programme,” said Ribka in her statement in Jakarta on Tuesday. She conveyed this at the “Kick Off Meeting on Integrated Infrastructure for Protection, Development, and Management of the North Java Coast” at the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, Jakarta, on Monday (4/5). In the forum, Ribka emphasised that regulatory and planning synchronisation will strengthen the effectiveness of national strategic programme implementation in the regions. She explained that active involvement of regional governments from provincial, regency/city to village levels is an important factor in the success of the programme, as also emphasised by related ministries and agencies. Furthermore, Ribka conveyed the importance of aligning regional planning documents with the direction of national policy, particularly through synchronisation of the Regional Spatial Planning Plan (RTRW) and the Regional Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMD). “The Interior Minister greatly hopes for synchronisation, especially in the preparation of regional RTRW and also related to its RPJMD,” she said. As a follow-up, the Ministry of Home Affairs will continue to encourage regional governments to ensure that the North Java coastal development programme can run strategically, directed, and in accordance with the targets set by the central government.
