Deputy House Speaker Inspects Hajj Departure Readiness at Kertajati Embarkation
MAJALENGKA — Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives (DPR RI), Cucun Ahmad Syamsurijal, conducted a direct inspection of the departure readiness for Hajj pilgrim groups (Kloter) 13 and 14 at the Kertajati Embarkation facility in Majalengka, West Java, on Sunday (18/5).
During his visit, Cucun highlighted the importance of synergy among Hajj officers in providing optimal services to Indonesian pilgrims. The politician from the National Awakening Party (PKB) faction urged Hajj officers to remain vigilant and responsive in addressing the various needs of pilgrims, particularly in the areas of health and worship services.
"I met directly with TPHI, TPIHI, TKHI and TPHD officers from groups 13 and 14. I urged them to always be proactive. No pilgrim should be left stranded or fall ill undetected," said Cucun.
He emphasised that the active involvement of officers is crucial to the smooth running of the entire process, from health services and departure information to immigration procedures and logistics management.
Furthermore, Cucun stressed the importance of supervision and coordination being carried out in accordance with procedures on the ground. This, he said, is key to detecting various obstacles faced by pilgrims and expediting solutions to emerging problems.
During the visit, Cucun also highlighted the implementation of the One Stop Service (OSS) system at the Kertajati Embarkation facility. He assessed that the system provides tangible convenience for pilgrims.
"In principle, services at the embarkation facility have begun to improve with the introduction of OSS," he said, as quoted from the official DPR RI website.
With the OSS system, immigration checks and baggage extraction can be completed at the embarkation facility, meaning pilgrims no longer have to queue at the airport. "Pilgrims no longer need to queue for immigration checks and baggage extraction at the airport. Everything is completed at the embarkation facility," he concluded.
The visit forms part of the DPR RI's oversight efforts to ensure the smooth implementation of the 2025 Hajj pilgrimage, as well as a demonstration of commitment to improved services for pilgrims.
