Jakarta – Deputy Health Minister (Wamenkes) Dante Saksono Harbuwono identified high blood pressure or hypertension as the most prevalent health condition affecting migrants based on free health screening results (CKG) at Gambir Station in Central Jakarta.

“From what I observed at the health post, hypertension is clearly the most common case, followed by diabetes and influenza,” said Wamenkes Dante in Jakarta on Tuesday.

The Deputy Health Minister explained that migrants presenting with these conditions underwent free screening and received immediate treatment and medication from the health post at Gambir Station.

“We hope everyone travels safely and reaches their destinations in good health. We are combining health screenings during the exodus with free check-ups. This aligns with this year’s Lebaran theme: safe travel and comfortable celebrations in terms of healthcare,” stated Wamenkes Dante.

He noted that comprehensive health screening stations had been set up with multiple examination stations, allowing migrants to undergo health checks while waiting for their trains to depart.

“While waiting for departure, they can have their health checked. Those requiring ongoing monitoring can receive treatment at hospitals or nearby facilities in their hometowns or can seek further treatment after returning to Jakarta,” Wamenkes Dante explained.

The screening services are accessible both offline and online. Migrants can register in person by presenting their identity cards or register online to streamline the process. The ministry emphasised that no special registration is required, with various convenient registration methods ensuring comprehensive and optimal healthcare services.

Dental examination services are also available at the Gambir Station health post. Migrants requiring further health monitoring can seek treatment at the nearest healthcare facilities in their hometowns or upon returning to Jakarta.

Meanwhile, Gambir Station Head Ganjar Mairizal reported that as of Tuesday (17 March) at 11:30 WIB, the station had processed 18,135 migrants. The majority were heading towards Central Java, particularly Yogyakarta, Solo, and Semarang, with others travelling to East Java, especially Surabaya.
