Jakarta - Deputy Minister of Hajj (Wamenhaj) Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak released the Hajj Service Officials (PPIH) for 1447 Hijriah or 2026 CE, specifically the Airport and Madinah Station group, who departed on Friday (17/4/2026). Dahnil stated that President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto has great expectations for the pilgrim officials to carry out their duties well. Dahnil mentioned that PPIH is the spearhead of the success of Hajj implementation, thus a great trust from the community that must not be betrayed. “Many hopes are entrusted to us. The spearhead of the success of Hajj 2026 is all of you,” he said. Dahnil added that the diversity of backgrounds among Indonesian Hajj pilgrims must be reciprocated with maximum and empathetic service. Based on data from the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the profile of Indonesian Hajj pilgrims shows high diversity. In terms of occupation, pilgrims are dominated by housewives numbering 52,717, followed by private employees 46,462, civil servants 40,143, and farmers 24,126. Meanwhile, in terms of education, the majority of pilgrims are elementary school graduates at 55,217, high school/vocational school 52,796, and bachelor’s/S1 51,968. As for age, Indonesian Hajj pilgrims are dominated by the 41–64 age group, with 58,461 males and 78,955 females. In addition, there are also elderly pilgrims over 65 years old, totalling more than 40,000 people overall.
