Jakarta – Deputy Chief of Police Komjen Pol Dedi Prasetyo conducted direct monitoring of the Lebaran travel traffic flow via aerial surveillance and the Command Centre at KM 29 on the Jakarta–Cikampek Toll Road as part of Operation Ketupat 2026 implementation.

From the monitoring results, outbound traffic from Jakarta towards several major travel routes remained smooth despite an increase in vehicle volumes.

Monitoring was carried out by surveying several toll road sections that serve as main travel routes, ranging from the Jakarta–Cikampek Toll Road towards Central and East Java.

The Deputy Chief of Police explained that based on aerial monitoring, vehicle movement towards the eastern regions of Java Island remained well-controlled by field officers.

“Overall, from my aerial observation, outbound traffic from Jakarta flows very smoothly. Although there has been an increase in vehicle volumes, it remains in the very smooth category,” said Dedi in his statement on Saturday, 14 March 2026.

He explained that the traffic situation observed from the air demonstrated smooth conditions at several critical points along the travel routes. From the Jakarta–Cikampek Toll Road section, routes towards Cirebon, through to the Central Java border in the Kalikangkung area, traffic conditions remained relatively controlled.

According to him, even along routes towards East Java such as the Ngawi area, vehicle flow continued to move well without significant congestion.

Besides routes towards Central and East Java, the Deputy Chief of Police also monitored traffic conditions heading towards Merak Port as a main travel route for those heading to Sumatra.

Based on reports received, vehicle flow towards that area also remained smooth. Nevertheless, to anticipate potential congestion, officers implemented traffic management by diverting three-axle heavy vehicles off the toll road towards arterial routes in the Cilegon area.

“For three-axle vehicles, diversion off the toll road towards arterial routes has already been implemented. This is part of our anticipatory measures to ensure smooth vehicle flow during the holiday exodus,” he explained.

Dedi also stressed that continuous monitoring of the travel exodus situation is being conducted through the Operation Ketupat Command Centre, equipped with technology-based traffic monitoring systems.
