Depok City Government to Inspect Damaged Road Leading to Citayam Station Following Residents' Complaints
Residents are complaining about the road to Citayam Station in Depok City, West Java, which is damaged. The Depok City Public Works and Spatial Planning Agency (Dinas PUPR) will first inspect the damaged road because it lies near the border with Bogor.
‘We will check first; there is a boundary between Depok and Bogor,’ said Acting Head Yodi Joko when contacted by reporters on Thursday, 5 March 2026.
He said the location needs to be checked for repairs because it borders Bogor’s area.
‘If the information can be sharpened, the exact location and coordinates. Because the market and the station are located in two different local government areas,’ he added.
Observations on Wednesday, 4 March, show road damage beginning on Jalan Situ Citayam. Potholes were visible at several points along this road.
Additionally, rubbish was piled up near the wall of the former Citayam Market site. A foul odour of waste was noticeable as vehicles passed.
Damage to the road was also seen on Jalan Lori Sawah towards Citayam Station. Large potholes were visible at several points.
The conditions mean motorcyclists must slow down. Traffic congestion often occurs during the morning and afternoon peak hours.
A resident named Aidil said the damage on the road to Citayam Station has persisted for about two years. He said the situation has worsened due to heavy rains that frequently lash the area.
‘It’s been about two years, I suppose, that it’s like this. Sometimes residents here also fill in or cover with cement themselves. But yes, it gets damaged again. Especially when it rains, it becomes muddy,’ he said.
He hopes the local government will repair the road soon. He is worried that the damaged road could cause motorcyclists to fall.
‘Ideally it would be repaired so residents feel comfortable passing here. This is a busy route, with many people taking the KRL from Citayam Station. Perhaps also to dig a drainage trench there, so that water doesn’t accumulate,’ he said.
