Denpasar BPBD Receives 24 Resident Reports for Hospital Transport During Nyepi
The Denpasar Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) received 24 reports from residents requesting transport to hospitals during Nyepi Saka 1948. Of these, 23 reports were successfully handled.
“There were a total of 23 incidents that we managed,” stated Putu Darma Putra, Operator of the Operations Control Centre (Pusdalops) at BPBD Denpasar, when contacted by detikBali on Friday (20/3/2026).
Tu Darma explained that out of the 24 reports received at Pusdalops BPBD Denpasar, one report lacked confirmation. Pusdalops BPBD Denpasar staff waited for confirmation on that report until the morning but received no clarity. “We were already prepared,” he clarified.
One of the reports handled by Pusdalops BPBD Denpasar during Nyepi involved a baby who needed to be taken to a hospital. The 10-month-old child was reported by her parents to require immediate treatment.
“There was a 10-month-old girl who had to be taken to the hospital because blood was coming out of her ear,” Tu Darma revealed.
“We don’t know the exact illness yet; the parents just said that when blood comes out, the child is fussy and dizzy. They’re also afraid of significant blood loss,” Tu Darma added.
The baby, from Manggarai in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), had previously undergone treatment in her hometown before being referred to Prof Ngoerah Central General Hospital (RSUP) in Denpasar. However, for further treatment, the child only received outpatient care.
While in Bali, the child and her parents resided on Jalan Tukad Pakerisan, Denpasar. The Pusdalops BPBD Denpasar team referred her to Bali Mandara Regional General Hospital (RSUD).
“They’ve only been in Bali for a month. After receiving the report, we took the child to the emergency department at RS Bali Mandara,” Tu Darma explained.
