Delivering Humanitarian Aid Worth Rp585 Million to Flood-Affected Communities in Sumatra
Herbalife, a company in the health and wellness sector, community, and leading platform, through the Herbalife Family Foundation (HFF), has delivered humanitarian aid to communities affected by flooding in Sumatra. This initiative was carried out in collaboration with the Humanitarian and Disaster Response Agency (LKTB), the humanitarian and disaster management unit of the Indonesian Medical Association (IDI). Through this initiative, Herbalife successfully raised funds amounting to Rp585,000,000 in December 2025 and January 2026. These funds were allocated to support emergency response and recovery efforts in various affected areas, including Aceh Tamiang as one of the most impacted regions. “Through this initiative, we reaffirm our commitment to being present to support communities during crises and to back sustainable recovery efforts. Collaboration with trusted partners like IDI and LKTB enables us to deliver targeted aid, particularly for essential needs such as nutrition, access to clean water, and basic health services,” said Director & General Manager of Herbalife Indonesia, Oktarianto Wahyu Jatmiko, quoted from a written statement received on Monday (30/3). As part of the aid efforts, Herbalife supported the establishment of an operational tent in Aceh, which now serves as the IDI/LKTB humanitarian operations centre. This post provides crucial support to affected communities, including the provision of nutritious food for mothers and babies, access to clean drinking water through the construction of several bore wells, and the distribution of packaged drinking water. Independent Herbalife members also actively participated in the humanitarian mission alongside IDI volunteers, supporting post operations and providing nutritional shakes to volunteers and flood-affected communities. The Chairman of IDI, Slamet Budiarto, stated that his organisation appreciates the strong collaboration with Herbalife in handling the flooding disaster in Aceh and surrounding areas. “This partnership enables more effective mobilisation of resources and expands the reach of aid to those in need. Support provided, from clean water access and nutritional aid to on-the-ground operational assistance, plays a vital role in strengthening the humanitarian response and accelerating community recovery,” he explained. As part of follow-up efforts after the December–January aid mission, a three-day follow-up visit was conducted to assess ongoing needs and strengthen recovery efforts in affected areas, including Kota Lintang Bawah and Kampung Duren. This visit focused on ensuring the continuity of previous interventions, such as the installation and monitoring of clean water facilities, post-flood health education by volunteer doctors, and ongoing distribution of nutritional support to affected families. Driven by the spirit of care from independent members and Herbalife employees, HFF continues to commit to improving nutrition, care, and well-being for underserved children and families. Throughout 2025, HFF has distributed grants totalling US$5 million through its flagship programme, Casa Herbalife, to 173 non-profit organisations in 62 countries and regions. This programme helps provide nutritious food, educational resources, and safe spaces for more than 200,000 children and families worldwide. Since its founding in 1994, HFF has contributed more than US$60 million to non-profit partners globally, strengthening communities and helping to build a healthier and more resilient future for generations to come.
