Defying Ban, 10 Three-Axle Vehicles Penalised on JORR Toll Road
Jakarta Traffic Police (Ditlantas Polda Metro Jaya) penalised 10 three-axle or heavier vehicles on the Jakarta Outer Ring Road (JORR) tollway on Wednesday (25/3). The action was taken because these vehicles are still prohibited from passing until 29 March. This is in accordance with the Joint Decree (SKB) on Lebaran 2026 Traffic and Wide Transport Crossing Regulations, which imposes operational restrictions on three-axle trucks from 13 March to 29 March. “The penalisation of three-axle vehicles occurred within the JORR Fatmawati gate heading east, with the vehicles coming from the Cikupa Toll Gate,” said Deputy Head of Traffic Enforcement (Kasubdit Gakkum) Ditlantas Polda Metro Jaya, AKBP Ojo Ruslani, to reporters on Wednesday. “Meanwhile, 10 vehicles (were penalised),” he added. Ojo explained that his team issued fines against dozens of such vehicles. In addition, the vehicles were immediately turned back. “(The action) involves fining, turning back to the starting point, and not allowing them to continue their journey,” he stated. Previously, the Head of Indonesian Traffic Corps (Kakorlantas Polri), Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho, also emphasised the ongoing ban and operational restrictions for three-axle or heavier trucks during the Lebaran return flow period. Therefore, he urged logistics entrepreneurs to continue complying with the SKB regulations, even though the peak return flow was predicted to have passed on Tuesday (24/3). “This SKB regulates restrictions on three-axle vehicles. So we also urge logistics entrepreneurs, especially those with three-axle vehicles, to comply with the SKB,” he said to reporters, quoted on Wednesday (25/3). Agus noted that during the recent Eid exodus period, officers still found three-axle trucks operating in the field. Thus, mitigation steps were taken by halting the operations of those trucks. “Many have been removed from the toll road and even stopped; of course, we must prioritise our fellow holiday returnees,” he said.
