Rismon Hasiholan Sianipar, a defendant in the case alleging that seventh President Jokowi’s diploma is fraudulent, met Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka at the Vice Presidential Palace in Central Jakarta on Friday, 13 March.

According to observers, Rismon arrived at approximately 09:55 Western Indonesian Time. When asked about his visit, Rismon stated only that he wished to pay respects to Gibran.

“Just a courtesy visit,” he said.

Previously, Gibran had responded to Rismon’s apology regarding the alleged diploma fraud case.

“Ramadhan is an excellent month for mutual forgiveness and rebuilding the bonds of brotherhood,” Gibran said in a statement on Thursday, 12 March.

Additionally, Gibran commended Rismon’s decision to clarify and review the statements he had previously made to the public.

“This step demonstrates maturity in democratic practice,” he added.

Rismon is one of the defendants in the alleged diploma fraud case against Jokowi at Metro Jaya Regional Police. He, along with Roy Suryo and Tifauzia Tyassuma, also known as Dr Tifa, had alleged that Jokowi’s diploma was fraudulent based on their scientific research, which was documented in the book Jokowi’s White Paper.

Most recently, Rismon has apologised for these allegations.

He stated that there are no irregularities in the undergraduate diploma of Indonesia’s seventh President, Joko Widodo, from Gadjah Mada University (UGM).

Rismon claimed to have conducted further research. The results of this additional investigation concluded that there were no irregularities in Jokowi’s diploma.

“There is no digital manipulation as I concluded in the Jokowi’s White Paper book. What does this mean? Its authenticity is preserved,” Rismon said after being received by Jokowi at his residence in Solo, Central Java, on Thursday, 12 March.
