Defence Ministry: Training of 4,000 Civil Servants as Reserve Component Divided into Two Batches
The Defence Ministry (Kemhan) has announced that training for 4,000 civil servants to become members of the Reserve Component (Komcad) will be conducted in two batches commencing in April.
“This will be carried out in April. We are currently in the registration and enrolment phase in accordance with the 2019 Law on National Resilience No. 23,” said Brigadier General Rico Ricardo Sirait, Head of Information at the Defence Ministry’s General Secretariat, when confirmed on Thursday (26 February).
He explained that in the initial training phase, 2,000 civil servants will receive training over a period of one and a half months. Subsequently, training will be provided to the remaining 2,000 civil servants.
“The training will be conducted in military units located in the Jakarta region,” he stated.
Rico emphasised that the training programme is voluntary and non-compulsory. Participants will be drawn from 49 ministries and agencies, with quotas adjusted according to each institution’s human resources.
“For example, if ministry A has 1,000 personnel and ministry B has 500, then ministry A’s quota might be only 50 people, and ministry B only 10 people. The quota is adjusted according to the number of human resources in each institution,” he explained.
Rico stated that civil servants participating in the training will also be subject to selection.
“The purpose of the selection is to ensure that the individuals are in good health and to confirm they have no physical limitations. Regarding gender, whether male or female, that is left to each institution or ministry,” he said.
