West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi provided direct assistance to Nina Saleha, the mother whose baby was nearly swapped at Hasan Sadikin Hospital (RSHS) in Bandung, after the case went viral on social media on Wednesday, 8 April 2026.

The assistance was given through a video call on Thursday, 9 April 2026, as a gesture of concern for the incident experienced by the victim.

During the conversation, Dedi Mulyadi expressed his sympathy while providing Rp10 million in aid for the baby’s needs and Nina’s health recovery after childbirth.

“Because you experienced difficulties during birth, I’ll entrust you with money to buy nappies for your child, for nutrition, and for your health recovery, yes. I’ll entrust Rp10 million to you,” said Dedi, quoted from the KDM YouTube channel.

In addition to providing aid, Dedi also offered congratulations on the birth of Nina’s third child and appreciated the victim’s resilience in facing the incident.

The case emerged after Nina shared her experience on social media. She claimed that her baby was briefly carried by another person during the discharge process from the hospital, even though the administration was not yet complete.

In response to the incident, the hospital, through Assistant Nursing Manager Arif, confirmed that the involved nurse has been temporarily suspended from service as part of the evaluation process.

“We have already clarified it earlier, sir. We also met with the Director of Medical Services, and it has been reported to the Director General. For now, as a form of guidance, we have suspended them from service so we can analyse it more deeply,” said Arif.

He added that the hospital is still conducting a deep analysis to determine the nature of the violation that occurred, including whether there was negligence or other factors.

According to Arif, the sanctions to be imposed will depend on the results of that evaluation. If it concerns competence, the nurse will undergo guidance or retraining. However, if negligence is proven, sanctions may include temporary revocation of clinical authority.

The hospital also does not rule out heavier sanctions, including permanent dismissal, if intentional elements are found in the case.
