Lebanon’s Health Ministry has reported that the death toll from Israeli attacks has reached 826 people. A total of 2,009 people have been wounded since the bombardment began on 2 March.

According to Al-Jazeera on Saturday, 14 March 2026, at least 65 women and 106 children have been killed in the Israeli attacks. The ministry stated that the number of deceased paramedics has risen to 31.

Previously, two health workers who had gone missing were discovered in the rubble of a primary health services centre in Burj Qalawiya.

The report also indicated that five hospitals have been forced to close due to direct attacks or security threats.

Officials have warned that the death toll may rise further as rescue teams continue searching through damaged areas and medical infrastructure remains under severe strain.

On Friday, 13 March, Hizbullah leader Naim Qassem affirmed that the group is prepared for a prolonged confrontation with Israel. This statement came after Tel Aviv threatened to make Lebanon pay an “increasingly high price” in infrastructure damage.

“We have prepared ourselves for a prolonged confrontation, and God willing, they (Israel) will be surprised on the battlefield,” Qassem said in his latest televised address.

“This is an existential battle, not a limited or simple one,” he added.

Other Israeli attacks destroyed a bridge spanning the Litani River, which connects the towns of Zrariyeh and Tayr Falsay, on Friday, 13 March. The river separates southern Lebanon from its eastern and western regions.

The Israeli military described the destroyed bridge as a “key crossing” used by Hizbullah “to build up forces and prepare for battle”.

The attack marked the first Israeli strike against Lebanese public infrastructure that Israel has acknowledged since the Middle East conflict began.
