Death of JICT Retiree Ermanto Usman Raises Questions
Bekasi – The case of Ermanto Usman’s death (65) and his wife Pasmilawati’s (60) critical condition, residents of Perumahan Prima Lingkar Asri, Jatibening, Pondok Gede, Bekasi City, still leaves questions. Ermanto and his wife were initially suspected to be the victims of a burglary at their home. However, the family believes the incident was a murder. “We hope the case of our father can be revealed who the perpetrator is. Because in our view this points more toward a murder case,” said Fiandy A Putra to reporters on Tuesday (3/3/2026). One of the anomalies is the condition of the second floor of the house, described as sterile. Yet at the time of the incident, his sister, Dinda Nada Alifah, was sleeping in the second-floor bedroom. “Yesterday it was checked by the police and it was sterile upstairs. My sister also locks the door before sleeping,” Putra said. He said this raises questions about access and movement of the perpetrator inside the house. Another discrepancy is the belongings inside the house. Putra said several important family documents remained intact and in a safe place. However, some items were reported missing. “Important items that my family and I know were not taken by the perpetrator. Although the car keys were taken, what is the use if the car is not taken?” he said. “When I checked, my mother was only wearing a necklace. The gold bracelet on the wrist—information from my sister—that there was one, but when I looked at the video, there was no bracelet,” he said. Ermanto’s elder brother, Dalsaf Usman, also highlighted the condition of the house, which he says is not normal if the incident was purely a burglary. “In fact, the safe was undamaged and untouched. The cabinet was still neatly arranged. But the victim’s mobile phone and his wife’s phone disappeared or were taken by the perpetrator,” said Dalsaf. The door to the victims’ room is usually not locked while sleeping. However, at the time of the incident, the key was missing.
