SINGAPORE (AFP): A German company, UHDE GmbH, and Singapore's
Sembawang Projects Engineering Company Pte. Ltd. (SEMPEC) have
been jointly awarded a US$60 million contract to build a hydrogen
peroxide plant in Indonesia, it was announced here.
A statement from SEMPEC said the plant, to be built for PT
Risjad Brasali Peroxida, would be located at Cikarang in West
Java and due for completion in the second half of 1996.
SEPEC's part in the project would include overall project
management, detailed engineering of the offsite facilities and
utilities, procurement and construction of the plant.
The Germany company would provide the process technology and
engineering as well as supply the equipment for its operations.
The contract is the first project undertaken by SEMPEC and
UHDE since the two companies entered a partnership in May this
year to pursue turnkey projects in the region.
SEMPEC is a subsidiary of Sembawang Corporation, a member of
Sembawang Engineering which is a member of the listed-Sembawang
Corporation.
Sembawang Corporation's main business is in ship repair and
marine related activities. Its Sembawang Shipyard is one of
Singapore's top three shipyards.
