Deal on chemical project<\/p>\n
SINGAPORE (AFP): A German company, UHDE GmbH, and Singapore's
\nSembawang Projects Engineering Company Pte. Ltd. (SEMPEC) have
\nbeen jointly awarded a US$60 million contract to build a hydrogen
\nperoxide plant in Indonesia, it was announced here.<\/p>\n
A statement from SEMPEC said the plant, to be built for PT
\nRisjad Brasali Peroxida, would be located at Cikarang in West
\nJava and due for completion in the second half of 1996.<\/p>\n
SEPEC's part in the project would include overall project
\nmanagement, detailed engineering of the offsite facilities and
\nutilities, procurement and construction of the plant.<\/p>\n
The Germany company would provide the process technology and
\nengineering as well as supply the equipment for its operations.<\/p>\n
The contract is the first project undertaken by SEMPEC and
\nUHDE since the two companies entered a partnership in May this
\nyear to pursue turnkey projects in the region.<\/p>\n
SEMPEC is a subsidiary of Sembawang Corporation, a member of
\nSembawang Engineering which is a member of the listed-Sembawang
\nCorporation.<\/p>\n
Sembawang Corporation's main business is in ship repair and
\nmarine related activities. Its Sembawang Shipyard is one of
\nSingapore's top three shipyards.<\/p>",
