REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – The submission of Annual Income Tax Return (SPT PPh) notifications continues to increase as the reporting deadline approaches. The Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) of the Ministry of Finance recorded that, up to Sunday (22/3/2026) at 24.00 WIB, 8,783,653 SPTs had been submitted for the 2025 Tax Year.

Of that number, the majority came from individual employee taxpayers, reaching 7,753,294 reports. Meanwhile, individual non-employee taxpayers recorded 846,494, followed by rupiah-denominated corporate taxpayers at 182,171 and US dollar-denominated at 138.

For taxpayers with different fiscal years who began reporting from 1 August 2025, the number is relatively small, namely 1,535 for rupiah-denominated entities and 21 for US dollar-denominated.

On the other hand, the use of the DJP Coretax system is also steadily increasing. Up to the same period, 16,676,712 taxpayers have activated their accounts. The breakdown consists of 15,631,073 individual taxpayers, 955,005 corporate taxpayers, 90,408 government agencies, and 226 Electronic System-Based Traders (PMSE).

DJP Director of Outreach, Services, and Public Relations, Inge Diana Rismawanti, stated that SPT reporting is now increasingly centralised through digital systems. “The progress of Annual PPh SPT reporting continues to run in line with the increasing use of DJP Coretax,” she said in a written statement on Monday (23/3/2026).

For the public, the convenience of online reporting has become the primary choice. Taxpayers can submit SPTs and activate Coretax accounts independently without needing to visit a tax office.

However, DJP reminds taxpayers not to delay reporting until close to the deadline. Besides risking technical issues due to access spikes, delays also incur administrative sanctions.

DJP imposes a fine of Rp100,000 for individual taxpayers and Rp1 million for corporate taxpayers who report late.

To assist the public, DJP provides various service channels, from Kring Pajak to assistance at tax offices. This step is expected to encourage compliance while facilitating the reporting process amid the growing use of digital systems.

With the number of reports continuing to rise, this period serves as a momentum for the public to fulfil their tax obligations on time, while adapting to increasingly digitalised service systems.
