Jakarta — The Director General of BPJS Kesehatan, Mayjen TNI (Purn) Prihati Pujowaskito, has ensured that BPJS Kesehatan members in the PBI (Contribution Assistance Recipients) segment can continue to receive care during the 2026 Lebaran holiday period.

“For deactivated PBI members who require catastrophic services such as dialysis, they will continue to be served throughout the Lebaran holiday,” said Pujo during a press conference at BPJS Central Office, Cempaka Putih, Central Jakarta, on 9 March 2026.

Pujo stated that the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) is currently conducting field verification checks on 11 million BPJS PBI participants who were deactivated.

“We are always awaiting developments from the Ministry of Social Affairs and BPS. If we are given a list to transfer segments or if the Ministry reactivates them, we will continue to provide services,” he said.

“We will wait for a letter from the Ministry of Social Affairs regarding segment transfers for participants. In any case, we will continue to provide services,” he added.

Previously, Social Affairs Minister Saifullah Yusuf, known as Gus Ipul, announced that 42,000 of the 11 million BPJS Kesehatan participants are confirmed to remain as PBI JKN (National Health Insurance beneficiaries).

Gus Ipul stated that the reactivation process is continuing in line with the updating of membership status based on the National Socio-Economic Data Registry (DTSEN).

“Of the 11 million PBI participants deactivated in February 2026, 106,153 beneficiaries have been automatically reactivated and 44,500 have been reactivated through regular procedures, with over 42,000 becoming active again as PBI-JK beneficiaries,” said Gus Ipul at the Ministry of Social Affairs office, Salemba, Central Jakarta, on Monday evening, 2 March 2026.

Gus Ipul confirmed that the process of updating PBI JKN membership status data aims to ensure that government health insurance subsidies reach poor and near-poor populations, specifically the bottom 40 per cent (Deciles 1-5).
