Jakarta — DBS Foundation has distributed support grants totalling SGD 4.9 million (approximately Rp 65 billion) to 22 social enterprises and businesses for impact (BFI) across Asia through the DBS Foundation Grant Program 2025.

In Indonesia, grants valued at SGD 850,000 or approximately Rp 11.2 billion have been awarded to five social enterprises and BFI: Parongpong RAW Lab, KONEKIN, Nazava Water Filters, DoctorTool, and Sosial Business Indonesia (SOBI). This support is projected to reach more than 1.9 million beneficiaries.

Mona Monika, Head of Group Marketing & Communications at PT Bank DBS Indonesia, stated that the bank believes business can be a force for creating positive change. As a purpose-driven bank, DBS Indonesia is committed to growing alongside its community and building a more inclusive ecosystem.

The bank hopes that grant recipients will bring about sustainable change for society. “Through the DBS Foundation Grant Program, we not only provide funding but also strengthen the foundation of social enterprises and BFI through mentorship and network access so they can grow healthily whilst expanding their impact,” Monika said.

The distribution of grants reflects DBS Foundation’s ongoing commitment and demonstrates the increasingly mature ecosystem of social entrepreneurship in Indonesia. Data from the Indonesian Creative Economy Agency (Bekraf) shows that in 2023, there were approximately 20,000 social entrepreneurs in Indonesia, an increase from around 15,000 in the previous year.

This growth demonstrates the strong commitment of business actors to make social impact an integral part of their business models.

The DBS Foundation Grant Program has been operating since 2014 to support hundreds of social enterprises and BFI across Asia that provide solutions to social challenges, ranging from access to clean water, food security, financial inclusion, to the creation of inclusive employment opportunities.

In 2025, the five grant recipients in Indonesia were selected for presenting innovative solutions capable of expanding social impact across various regions, from Sumatra, Java, to Eastern Indonesia.

Additionally, DBS Foundation has expanded its support to the health sector through DoctorTool, a healthtech startup focused on improving the quality of primary healthcare services and expanding access to services for underserved communities.

“More than just a financial partner, Bank DBS Indonesia is committed to fostering broader inclusivity. Our sustainability pillar of ‘impact beyond banking’ is about empowering impact-driven businesses to expand and strengthen their positive reach,” Monika added.
