Jakarta - Deputy Speaker of the House Sufmi Dasco Ahmad has asked the public not to rush to queue at petrol stations to buy fuel oil (BBM). This is because Dasco has monitored queues at petrol stations in several areas due to rumours of fuel price increases. Dasco has reassured the public that fuel prices as of 1 April 2026 will remain the same as today. “We monitored today that there are queues in several areas at petrol stations. Therefore, we urge, with the government’s announcement, that there is no plan to adjust prices for subsidised or non-subsidised fuel,” Dasco said during a press conference at the DPR Building, Senayan, Jakarta, on Tuesday (31/3/2026). Dasco conveyed that President Prabowo Subianto will continue to monitor and ensure the public’s fuel needs. He also appreciated the government for maintaining fuel price stability in Indonesia. “According to the government, our stocks are sufficient,” Dasco added. It is known that queues at petrol stations in several areas have snaked due to rumours of fuel price increases. In Padang City, for example, petrol stations there have seen an increase due to price hike rumours circulating on social media. He mentioned that queues have occurred from morning until night. The focus of the queues is mostly on vehicles seeking to fill subsidised fuel. In addition, petrol stations in Cawas, Klaten, Central Java, have also been observed to have crowded queues, dominated by motorcycles.
