DAS to build CPO plant

KENDARI (Antara): PT Duta Agro Sulawesi (DAS) is planning to
open oil palm estate and to build a crude palm oil (CPO) plant in
Southeast Sulawesi at a total cost of Rp 250 billion (US$106
million), a ranking provincial official said here Saturday.

Soewondo, head of the provincial plantation office, said that
the company has cleared a plot of 20,000 hectares of land in the
districts of Kolaka and Kendari for the development of the oil
palm estates in the province.

Concerning the construction of the CPO plant, Soewondo said
that the company would build the plant in Routa village, Asera
sub-district, here.

The construction of the plant and the opening of the oil palm
estates is scheduled to start next year, he added.
