Daredevil to make another attempt

KUALA LUMPUR (AFP): A French daredevil who was arrested here
Thursday for attempting to scale the world's tallest building
still hopes to complete the feat but this time for charity and
with official approval.

The 34-year-old rock climber was freed on bail late Thursday
after police arrested him for trying to scale one of the two 88-
story Petronas Twin Towers, the world's tallest building, in
central Kuala Lumpur.

Alain Robert, who is married with three children, currently
lives in Valence in southern France. He has been climbing since
1975 and earns a living by giving climbing lessons to police and
fire department officers.

He attempted a similar stunt in Sydney last month when he
tried to climb cables surrounding the Australian city's tallest
structure, the Centrepoint Tower, but was stopped halfway up.
