Dance festival for teenagers

JAKARTA (JP): A two-day Dance Festival for Teenagers is slated
to be staged on Oct. 30 and 31 at the Jakarta Playhouse to
celebrate Youth Pledge Day on Oct. 28.

The participants are the winners of previous dance contests
held by the mayoralties, Adhiek Sri Mulyani, chairwoman of the
organizing committee was quoted by Antara as saying yesterday.

Each mayoralty is allowed to send five dance groups to the
festival, she said.

"The festival is meant to encourage teenagers, especially
those who like dancing, to express themselves in their
creations,"

The festival is also aiming to promote dance in the capital,
