ST. PETERSBURG — Danantara CEO Rosan Roeslani has announced that his organisation has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) to establish a joint investment fund worth €2 billion, equivalent to approximately Rp37.8 trillion.
Rosan stated that the joint fund would focus on priority sectors such as renewable energy, digital infrastructure, artificial intelligence (AI), and critical minerals. The agreement also forms part of efforts to strengthen strategic economic ties between Indonesia and Russia.
"One of the agreements we signed yesterday was between Danantara and RDIF, where we agreed to create a joint fund of approximately €2 billion," Rosan said in St. Petersburg, Russia, on Friday (20 June 2025).
"Several potential investments include bauxite, alumina, aluminium, and downstream processing. They have even committed to sending a team to meet with us next week," he added, as quoted by Antara.
Rosan revealed that potential cooperation between Danantara and Russia also encompasses the development of electric and solar-powered shipbuilding industries. According to Rosan, the environmentally friendly shipbuilding technology belonging to Russian partners has been widely used in waterways, including rivers and seas.
Initial operations of the investment fund are expected to commence in the near future.
