Danantara chief attends BHR online ride-hailing press conference; is there a link to the Grab–GoTo merger?
Jakarta — The government emphasised Danantara’s involvement in the Bonus Hari Raya (BHR) programme for pure ride-hailing drivers as support to ensure the assistance reaches a larger number of partners. The matter is unrelated to the ongoing debate over a business consolidation between the ride-hailing apps.
Rosan Roeslani, Minister of Investment and Hilirisasi/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) and also the CEO of Danantara, said the support is provided to boost BHR this year, both in nominal value and in the number of recipients.
‘We are giving full support so that this BHR can be obtained by ride-hailing drivers and the amount can increase,’ he said after the Media Briefing in Jakarta, on Tuesday (3/3/2026).
Rosan stressed that the role is not connected to the merger issue between Grab and GoTo that had been discussed.
‘No. We are only encouraging,’ he said briefly.
Nationwide, the government states that BHR 2026 will reach around 850,000 driver partners with a total value of around Rp 220 billion. The two large apps each allocated Rp 100–110 billion, doubling compared with last year.
The government’s support, including via Danantara, is aimed at maintaining balance in the digital economy ecosystem. In addition to providing extra income for drivers ahead of Lebaran, the policy is expected to strengthen the stability of the online transport sector during the exodus (mudik) and the peak in demand.
