TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Danantara (Badan Pengelola Investasi Daya Anagata Nusantara) CEO Rosan Roeslani has stated that Ray Dalio remains with the organisation. He said he had just met with Dalio's son, Mark Dalio, and his team the previous week.

"I just met his team last week, including his son Mark Dalio. The discussions went smoothly," he said at the Presidential Palace Complex in Central Jakarta on Wednesday, 28 May 2025.

He denied reports that the founder of hedge fund Bridgewater Associates had cancelled his role as a Danantara adviser. "I just met with his team yesterday and had a Zoom call as well. There is nothing — he has not left Danantara," he said.

Danantara Chief Information Officer Pandu Sjahrir said he was unaware of reports that Dalio had stepped down from the institution. He confirmed he had also met with Mark Dalio and his team the previous Sunday. "His son [Mark Dalio] joined us and others last Sunday," he said.

Previously, Bloomberg reported that Ray Dalio had reportedly resigned from his position as Danantara adviser, citing personal reasons for his decision.

President Prabowo Subianto had earlier invited Ray Dalio and a number of Indonesian conglomerates to discuss Danantara at Merdeka Palace in Central Jakarta on Friday afternoon, 7 March 2025. During that meeting, Rosan said Dalio had provided extensive input on developing Danantara.

According to Rosan, Dalio offered advice on partnerships, initiatives, and the sectors Danantara should focus on. "So what form of cooperation, what initiatives, and what fields to pursue," Rosan said.

Rosan added that Dalio also compared Indonesia's Danantara with sovereign wealth funds (SWFs) of other countries such as China. Danantara should be open to adopting programmes from those nations' SWFs. "We are open to this as well. We can adopt and naturally adapt them to conditions in Indonesia," he said.

Furthermore, Rosan said Dalio advised Danantara to collaborate with business leaders, though such cooperation must be conducted openly and transparently. Rosan stated at the time that Dalio had already committed to serving on Danantara's Advisory Board.
