The Ministry of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP) and the Daya Anagata Nusantara Investment Management Agency (Danantara Indonesia) have conducted a site survey as the initial step in planning the development of housing for low-income families (MBR) in Cikarang, West Java. The location is situated in an area with access to integrated multimodal transportation.

The survey was undertaken as the opening phase to support the acceleration of the “3 Million Homes” programme, which forms part of the President’s priority initiatives. On the land surveyed, plans call for the development of a residential area for low-income families.

The site survey was attended by Hashim Djojohadikusumo, Chair of the Housing Task Force, Maruarar Sirait, Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas, Rosan Roeslani, Chief Executive Officer of Danantara Indonesia, local government officials, Mochtar Riady, Founder and Chair of the Lippo Group, and James Riady, Founder and Board Chair of the Pelita Harapan Foundation.

Following the site survey, the PKP Ministry together with Danantara Indonesia will proceed with the concept development process, including formulation of the residential area development scheme, pricing mechanisms, and development of concepts and criteria for purchase by low-income families.

Rosan Roeslani, Chief Executive Officer of Danantara Indonesia, stated that the initial step through this site survey is part of a collective effort to ensure that housing development for low-income families can be carried out in a planned and sustainable manner.

“In line with the President’s direction, the provision of decent and affordable housing for low-income families is one of the main priorities in national development,” Rosan said in a written statement in Jakarta on Sunday, 8 March 2026.

Through collaboration between the government, Danantara Indonesia, state-owned enterprises, and the business sector, Rosan intends to ensure that the development of this residential area can be carefully designed, in terms of development concept, pricing mechanisms, and ownership schemes for the community. This aims to provide access to decent and affordable housing for low-income families.
